Hangzhou beat Tianjin 3-1, Liaoning stun Shanghai SIPG 3-1 in CSL

Xinhua, July 23, 2016 Adjust font size:

Jorge Sammir scored two goals to help Hangzhou Greentown secure a 3-1 home win over Tianjin Teda in the 19th round of 2016 Chinese Super League (CSL) on Saturday.

Anselmo Ramon won a penalty for Hangzhou just before half time. But his shot from spot was denied by Tianjin's goalkeeper Yang Qipeng. The ball went to Sammir and he grabbed the chance to make it 1-0.

Li Yuanyi equalized for Tianjin in the 77th minute but Denilson Gabionetta helped the home team take the lead again five minutes later. Sammir scored another goal in injury time to seal the win, helping Hangzhou get out of the relegation zone.

Shanghai SIPG had a chance for the second place in the league when Jean Evrard Kouassi scored the opener against Liaoning Whowin in the 32nd minute, but Liaoning couldn't afford to lose the game. Jame Chamanga, Sun Shilin and Anthony Ujah scored one goal each in the second half to complete the comeback for Liaoning.

With this precious home win, Liaoning is currently 3 points away from the relegation zone and they have one more game in hand as they played 18 games after 19 rounds. Endit
