Cologne scoop up striker Guirassy

Xinhua, July 21, 2016 Adjust font size:

Cologne have completed the transfer of French striker Sehrou Guirassy from LOSC Lille, the Bundesliga club announced in an official statement on Wednesday.

The 20-year-old striker reinforces the "Billy Goats" offence after putting pen to paper on a five-year deal, which keeps him in the "Domstadt" until June 2021.

"His numerous appearances in France's youth teams are an evidence for his qualities," Cologne coach Peter Stoeger said. "We want him to evolve as a young player here. We believe in his potential."

Guirassy joined Lille from Stade Lavallois in summer 2015 but was loaned to AJ Auxerre where he provided eight goals in 16 competitive outings for the second division side.

Cologne's new arrival is since 2015 part of France's Under-20 national team. He marked four goals in nine caps.

Peter Stoeger's men clash with Darmstadt to open their Bundesliga season 2016-2017 on August 27. Endit
