Indian stocks close higher

Indian stocks closed higher Wednesday fuelled by hopes of passage of the goods and services tax (GST) bill in the ongoing monsoon session of Parliament.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex closed at 27,915.89, 128.27 points or 0.46 percent up from the previous close of 27,787.62, with a turnover of 606.65 crore rupees (about 90.3 million U.S. dollars). Endit
