Skjelbred extends contract with Hertha Berlin

Norway international Per Skjelbred extended his contract with Hertha Berlin, the Bundesliga club confirmed in an official statement on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old offensive midfielder extended his current contract, stipulated until June 2017, after putting pen paper on a two-year extension to stay until June 2019 with the "Herthaner" .

Per Ciljan Skjelbred joined Hertha Berlin in the summer 2013 making an immediate impact to become a key player in the midfield. He made overall 120 competitive outings to provide 16 assists and two goals.

Hertha's midfielder is since 2007 part of Norway's national team, where he became the team captain in June 2013. He made 37 international caps to score one goal for Norway.

Hertha Berlin kick off their Bundesliga season 2016-2017 against newly promoted Freiburg on Aug. 28. Endit
