Israeli forces injure five Palestinians in clashes following house demolition

Xinhua, July 18, 2016 Adjust font size:

Palestinian sources said Monday that five Palestinians were injured, one critically, in clashes with Israeli forces, which demolished a house near Jenin in the West Bank.

The five Palestinians were shot and wounded by Israeli soldiers during a raid into the northern West Bank town of Qabatiya, where it demolished a house, the sources said.

The demolished house belongs to Bilal Abu Zeid, a Palestinian in Israeli jails who was accused of transporting three Palestinians who were killed during a shooting in East Jerusalem last February, in which a female Israeli border control officer was killed.

The governor of Jenin, Gen. Ibrahim Ramadan, told Xinhua that the latest demolition was the fourth in the city since last October, when a fresh wave of violence broke out between the Palestinians and Israelis.

The violence has resulted in the death of over 200 Palestinians and 35 Israelis. Endit
