Heavy rain or storms are expected in parts of Hunan, Jiangxi, Fujian, Guizhou, Sichuan, Gansu and Ningxia from Sunday afternoon to Monday afternoon, the National Meteorological Center said in a statement on its website.

The areas, some of which might experience thunder and hailstorms, will see as much as 90 mm of precipitation.

The center called on local authorities to take precautions against urban waterlogging and natural disasters including landslides and mud-rock flows.
