Family of 5 killed as roof collapses in E. Afghanistan: official

Xinhua, July 17, 2016 Adjust font size:

All the five members of an Afghan family died after roof of a house collapsed in the country's eastern province of Paktika overnight, the provincial governor said on Sunday.

"A couple and their three children were killed after the roof of their house collapsed in Sar Hawza district last night," governor Mohammad Elyas Wahdat told Xinhua.

The cause of the incident was aging of the muddy house, the governor noted.

Such incident is not uncommon in the country as most of the houses and shops in countryside has been built from mud and woods.

On Saturday, a 20-year-old man and a child were killed and two persons were wounded after a shop's roof collapsed in Tirin Kot, capital of southern Uruzgan province, according to officials. Enditem
