Forty-five Moroccan athletes will compete in 12 sports at the Rio Olympics, which will be held on August 5-21.

According to the list published Friday by the Moroccan National Olympic Committee, athletics, main supplier of Olympic medals for Moroccan sports, holds the lion's share with 18 athletes, followed by boxing with 7 boxers.

1,500m runner Abdalaati Iguider, bronze medalist from the London Olympic Games and the 2012 World Indoor Champion, and welterweight boxer Mohammad Rabii, the 2015 world champion and World Series of Boxing's boxer of the year, are Morocco's best chances to win medals in the Games.

For the first time in its history, Morocco will take part in show jumping at the Olympics through rider Abdelkebir Ouaddar. Endit
