Urgent: One killed in Istanbul, coup d'etat supressed, governor says

One person was killed in Istanbul in a coup-related incident early Saturday, but the coup d'etat has been supressed, Istanbul Governor Vasip Sahin told CNNTurk.

Sahin said that the third army brigade posted in the Thrace region in western Turkey was arriving in Istanbul.

Mosques in Istanbul called on people to take to the streets, echoing an earlier call by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Endit
