Urgent: Soldiers leaving main Istanbul airport: media

Turkish soldiers were leaving the Ataturk Airport in Istanbul, while some Turks are walking toward the airport, the Hurriyet daily said.

It said supporters of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan are among the throng, as the leader had urged people to gather at squares and airports to protect democracy.

Tanks were sent to the airport amid reports of a coup attempt, and all flights were canceled. Endit
