Germany's benchmark DAX index continues to advance

The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Tuesday continued to advance and closed at 9,964.07 points.

The automaker Daimler has released financial results for the second quarter which are better than expected. The performance of Daimler helped the blue-chip DAX index to advance by 130.66 points, or 1.33 percent.

Deutsche Bank topped the list of risers with an increase of 6.32 percent. BMW climbed by 4.67 percent. Daimler gained 4.4 percent. Commerzbank added 3.16 percent. Volkswagen went up by 3.09 percent.

On the other hand, Vonovia, a real estate company, plunged by 1.56 percent. Beiersdorf, a skin care company, lost 1.19 percent. Henkel, a beauty care, laundry care and adhesive technology company, fell by 1.08 percent. Fresenius Medical Care lost 1.08 percent. The utilities company EON went down by 0.15 percent.

Siemens was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 411.95 million euros (455.06 million U.S. dollars). Endit
