Eurozone business investment rate up to 22.2 pct in Q1

The business investment rate was 22.2 percent in the 19-country euro area in the first quarter of 2016, official data showed on Monday.

The figure was greater than the reading of 22 percent in the previous quarter, said Eurostat, the statistic agency of the European Union.

The business profit share in the single currency zone was 40.1 percent in the first quarter of 2016, stable compared with the previous quarter, Eurostat said.

Meanwhile, compared with data released on April 28, 2016, the investment rate of non-financial corporations for the first three months of 2016 has been revised from 22.2 percent to 22.0 percent. The profit share of non-financial corporations for the same quarter has been revised from 40.0 percent to 40.1 percent. Endit
