Chinese leaders attend former senior political advisor's funeral

Former senior political advisor Chen Jinhua was cremated on Friday morning, with Chinese leaders paying their respects at a funeral in Beijing.

President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang and other leaders Zhang Dejiang, Yu Zhengsheng, Liu Yunshan, Wang Qishan, Zhang Gaoli attended the funeral at the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery. Hu Jintao also attended the funeral.

They stood in silent tribute and made three bows in front of Chen's body. They also offered Chen's family their condolences.

These leaders and Jiang Zemin, Hu Jintao either visited Chen when he was hospitalized or expressed condolences after his death.

Chen, former vice chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, died on July 2 at the age of 87. Endi
