Spanish gov't agrees to distribute 1.75 mln euros for refugee aid

The acting Spanish government on Friday agreed to distribute 1.75 million euros (1.93 million U.S. dollars) of aid to the country's 17 autonomous communities in order to help the settlement of refugees from Syria and Iraq.

The measure was agreed during ministers' council and confirmed by acting Deputy Prime Minister Soraya Saenz de Santamaria.

Spain has been criticized for the slowness of its response to the refugee conference. Enditem
