Singapore stocks close 0.53 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 15.13 points, or 0.53 percent, to close at 2,847.04.

A total of 1.46 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 887.1 million Singapore dollars (657.1 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 223 to 152, while 533 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 2.5 points, or 0.09 percent, to close at 2,862.17 on Thursday. Endit
