Vietnam's HCM City eyes monorail lines

Xinhua, July 5, 2016 Adjust font size:

Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City plans to pour nearly 377 million U.S. dollars into building a 16.5-km monorail line linking Go Vap District with District 12, local media reported Tuesday.

If the plan is approved by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, construction work will start in 2019 and be completed in five years, state-owned Vietnam News Agency reported. The selection of investors will be made through international bidding.

Under Ho Chi Minh City's adjusted master plan for transport to 2020 approved by the Vietnamese government, the city will have eight metro lines, six bus rapid transit routes and three monorail lines. Enditem
