Malaysian police confirms first IS related attack

Xinhua, July 4, 2016 Adjust font size:

Malaysian police said Monday that an earlier explosion that injured at least eight was the first such attack related to the Islamic State in the country, local media reported Monday.

National police chief Khalid Abu Bakar said 15 were arrested since the attack.

A grenade hit a bar in the early hours on June 28 in the suburb of the capital city of Kuala Lumpur, leaving 8 injured, including a Chinese national. Local police said earlier that the explosion was gang-related and not an act of terror. Endit
