5 killed in Pakistan's Karachi boiler explosion

At least five laborers were killed and four others injured when boiler of an ice factory collapsed in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi on Monday morning, officials said.

Laeeq Ahmad, the administrator of Karachi, said that the factory's roof caved in following the explosion of the boiler in New Karachi area of the metropolis, the provincial capital of the country's south Sindh province.

Rescue teams have retrieved five bodies and four injured people from the debris and several people are still believed to be trapped under the rubbles.

Police and district administration had reached at the site and started investigations to determine the cause of the explosion of the boiler. Endit
