Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain Sunday announced that Poland midfielder Crzegorz Krychowiak joined the French capital club on a five-year contract.
The deal has tied the Polish international to PSG until June 30, 2021. The 26-year-old, having capped 38 matches for Poland including five Euro 2016 show-ups in France last month, is the second summer signing for the 2016-2017 season after Hatem Ben Arfa.
"I am very proud to return to France and defend the colors of a club as ambitious as Paris Saint-Germain," Krychowiak told PSG website after signing his contract at the club's headquarters.
He moved to Les Parisiens from La Liga side Sevilla where he spent two years under PSG's new coach Unai Emery.
"The opportunity to continue working with Unai Emery was obviously a major factor in my decision," said the Polish midfielder.
"I have joined Paris to live very strong emotions and with the ambition of winning as many trophies as possible. I am looking forward to this exciting next step in my career," he added.
Trained at the Girondins de Bordeaux youth academy, Krychowiak took off his professional career with Ligue 1 members Reims before signing for Sevilla in 2014.
In two seasons in Spain, the Pole won two consecutive UEFA Europa League titles and played in the final of the Copa del Rey against FC Barcelona last May.
"I am very satisfied to see Grzegorz Krychowiak join our club," declared PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi. "He has been very successful over the past two seasons with Sevilla FC, especially in European competition, and has been one of the standout performers at UEFA Euro 2016, in France."
"Grzegorz represents the values of hard-work and fighting spirit, so important to our club, our fans and our new coach with whom he wanted to continue playing. I have no doubt he will become an important member of our squad," added the Qatari. Endit
