The following are highlights of South African major media outlets on Sunday.

-- Don Mkhwanazi, the politically connected Durban businessman and leading advocate for black economic empowerment, died of a heart attack in Durban on Friday night.

The 63-year-old businessman was a top ally of President Jacob Zuma.(Business Day)

-- The allegations of censorship at the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) are very serious and should be investigated, the African National Congress (ANC) said on Friday.

There was no place in a constitutional democracy for censorship and the ANC expected the SABC to deal with the allegations in a way that upheld freedom of the press, spokesperson Zizi Kodwa said.(News24)

-- The death toll of initiates is steadily climbing in the Eastern Cape since the start of the winter initiation season two weeks ago.
