Russia appeals against IAAF's participation ban

Xinhua, July 3, 2016 Adjust font size:

The Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) and 68 Russian athletes have submitted a collective appeal against the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) for its decision to ban Russian athletes from international games, the ROC said Sunday.

The ROC added that the appeal will be considered by the Court of Arbitration for Sport on July 19.

On June 17, the world athletics governing body IAAF upheld a ban on Russia's track and field athletes for Rio de Janeiro Olympics for systematic violations of doping regulations, which Moscow considered unfair. Endit
