Degree of Portuguese former minister revoked

Xinhua, July 1, 2016 Adjust font size:

Portugal's former minister of parliamentary affairs Miguel Relvas had his university degree revoked on Thursday, local media reported, following allegations that he had not completed all his course credits.

Relvas obtained a degree in political science and international relations from Portugal's largest private university, Lusofona, in 2007. He resigned as minister in April 2013 due to personal reasons.

Last year, Lusofona university was given a deadline by the Portuguese authorities to revoke his degree, following an investigation carried out by the General Inspection of Education and Science.

The university was also asked to revoke over 150 degrees given to students from 2006 to 2013 due to irregularities. Endit
