British FTSE 100 rises 2.27 pct on Thursday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Thursday rose by 2.27 percent, or 144.27 points, to 6,504.33 points.

Share price of Randgold Resources increased by 8.52 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. SSE, Informa, Antofagasta and Intu Properties increased by 5.57 percent, 5.27 percent, 5.10 percent and 5.07 percent respectively.

Royal Bank of Scotland Group led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 4.77 percent, following by Dixons Carphone (4.59 percent), Lloyds Banking Group (2.63 percent), Whitbread (2.10 percent) and Travis Perkins (1.54 percent). Endit
