Chinese, Seychelles presidents exchange congratulations over 40th anniversary of ties

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Seychelles President James Michel exchanged congratulations Thursday to mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Over the past 40 years, the two sides have maintained a sincere and equal friendship marked by mutual trust, common development, and fruitful win-win cooperation in all fields, Xi said in his congratulatory message.

"I attach great importance to developing the friendly and cooperative relations between China and Seychelles, and I am willing to comprehensively deepen our bilateral ties in order to bring more benefits to the two nations and their people," Xi said.

In his message, Michel said that Seychelles and China have carried out close cooperation in such fields as trade, infrastructure construction, public health and education and their partnership is par excellence.

Seychelles is willing to work with China to bring their relations to a new high, Michel said. Endi
