The following are highlights of South African major media outlets on Saturday:

-- Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan on Friday said trade links between SA, the EU and Britain are strong and that the local resilient financial sector can withstand any financial shocks. Gordhan was responding to a decision by the UK to leave the EU following a referendum.(Business Day)

-- President Jacob Zuma has declared August 3 a public holiday, the presidency said on Friday.

This would enable all those eligible to do so to cast their votes in the local government elections that day, presidency spokesperson Bongani Ngqulunga said.(News24)

-- President Jacob Zuma is studying Friday's High Court ruling denying him leave to appeal the review of the decision to drop corruption charges against him in 2009, his office said.

Spokesperson Bongani Ngqulunga said Zuma would decide once he had mulled the judgment whether or not to petition the Supreme Court of Appeal in a bid to overturn the North Gauteng High Court (Pretoria) ruling.(African News Agency) Endit
