3 militants killed in eastern Afghan province

Three militants were killed and two police were injured as a clash erupted in Sayed Karam district of the eastern Paktia province on Saturday, provincial police chief Qadir Gul Zadran said.

According to the official, the clash erupted after a group of Taliban militants stormed a police security checkpoint in Alamgai area early Saturday and police retaliated forcing militants to flee after leaving three dead bodies behind.

Taliban outfit which is active in parts of Paktia and the neighboring Khost and Paktika provinces haven't commented. Endit
