Europa League Champions Sevilla sign Japanese international Kiyotake

Xinhua, June 24, 2016 Adjust font size:

Europa League champions Sevilla on Friday confirmed the signing of Japanese international Hiroshi Kiyotake from German side, Hannover.

26 year-old Kiyotake, who cost Sevilla around 6 million dollars from Hannover, has signed a four-year contract with the side which made history in May when they defeated Liverpool to win a third successive Europa League title and book a place in next season' s Champions League.

"The chance of playing in the Champions League made this an easy decision," explained Kiyotake, who added that the move would also increase his chances of representing Japan in the 2018 World Cup.

During his two seasons with Hannover, Kiyotake scored 10 goals in 53 appearances, although his efforts were not enough to help them avoid relegation last season. Meanwhile he has netted three goals in 36 appearances for Japan. Endit
