Guangzhou Evergrande crowned half-way championships after beating Jiangsu Suning

Xinhua, June 24, 2016 Adjust font size:

Goulart' s header and Alan' s goal helped Guangzhou Evergrande to seal the half-way championships after beating Jiangsu Suning 2-0 on Friday in the 14th round of 2016 Chinese Super League.

Ricardo Goulart' s header broke the deadlock for Guangzhou Evergrande in the 24th minute from Alan' s pass, who scored only 4 minutes later from Huang Bowen' s pass in a fast counter-attack.

This victory also helped Guangzhou Evergrande secure the half-way championships after 15 matches. (The 21st round have been played in advance last week.)

Shandong Luneng, a top-level club in CSL, failed to win in nine successive rounds after losing to Chongqing Lifan away and almost dropped into the relegation zone.

Fernando Henrique, 23, Chongqing Lifan' s winger, scored in the 9th minute, and Yang Xu helped Shangdong Luneng equalize in 78th minute. But Wang Dong' s goal in injury time sealed a tough victory for the host team. Enditem
