Roman Neustaedter will leave Schalke after four years, the Russian international confirmed in an official statement on Wednesday.
Neustaedter and Schalke were unable to reach an agreement on a further collaboration.
"The decision was very difficult for me and has been lengthen unnecessarily because of the new arrival of manager (Christian Heidel) and coach (Markus Weinzierl). Now, after three months of waiting, I would like to join a club that respects me as a player and a person," Neustaedter said.
The defensive midfielder joined the "Royal Blues" in 2012 after signing a four-year deal, until June 2016, to score seven goals in 122 outings.
The Bundesliga club confirmed the parting in a brief statement via the official homepage. "Contract not extended. Thanks for four years at Schalke. All the best for the future Roman Neustaedter."
Schalke completed the Bundesliga season 2015-2016 on the 5th position of the standings to ensure a berth in the UEFA Europa League. Endit
