EBRD pledges 68 mln USD for Ukraine's energy efficiency

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will allocate 60 million euros (about 68 million U.S. dollars) to support Ukraine's energy-efficiency enhancement, a senior bank official said here on Wednesday.

The fund will be distributed to Ukraine in the form of grants within the next four years, Anders Lund, the EBRD manager of the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership (E5P) program.

About 17 million dollars will be used for the energy-efficient modernization of residential buildings, he told a press conference.

Established in 2009, the E5P is a multi-donor fund aimed at improving energy efficiency and environmental protection in Eastern Europe. Endit
