UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Tuesday condemned a terrorist attack against a Jordanian guard post on the border with Syria.

A suicide attacker detonated a car bomb in the border buffer zone, killing six Jordanian officers and injuring 14 others.

"The secretary-general is particularly concerned that the attack took place opposite an encampment where Syrian asylum seekers await entry into Jordan," said a statement released by Ban's spokesperson.
