Spanish stock market index rises 0.23 pct on Tuesday

The Spanish stock market index Ibex-35 rose 0.23 percent on Tuesday to close at 8,667.30 points, up from the 8,647.10 points of Monday.

On Tuesday's session, Banco Santander shares led rises climbing 1.74 percent, followed by Merlin, Telefonica, Grifols, Repsol and Inditex that rose 1.43 percent, 0.99 percent, 0.82 percent, 0.80 percent and 0.80 percent, respectively.

On the other hand, ArcelorMittal shares led falls losing 3.98 percent, followed by Gamesa, Acerinox, Bankia, Tecnicas Reunidas and Banco Popular that lost 3.75 percent, 3.50 percent, 2.37 percent, 1.68 percent and 1.47 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, Spain's risk premium closed at 145.40 points and Spain's 10-year bond interest rate closed at 1.5 percent, both showing no big differences when compared with Monday's closing time. Endit
