Germany's benchmark DAX index advances

The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Tuesday continued to rise and closed above 10,000 points.

The blue-chip DAX index gained 53.52 points, or 0.54 percent and closed at 10,015.54 points.

Deutsche Bank rose by 2.21 percent. Deutsche Boerse added 1.9 percent. The utilities company EON climbed by 1.72 percent. Bayer advanced by 1.46 percent and Commerzbank went up by 1.34 percent.

On the other hand, Deutsche Post fell by 1.27 percent. The semiconductor company Infineon Technologies slipped by 0.95 percent. Volkswagen slipped by 0.92 percent. Thyssenkrupp dropped by 0.92 percent. Deutsche Telekom lost 0.62 percent.

Bayer was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 235.35 million euros (265 million U.S. dollars). Endit
