Singapore stocks close 0.41 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 11.42 points, or 0.41 percent, to close at 2,789.45.

A total of 985 million shares changed hands with turnover of 942.2 million Singapore dollars (703.1 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 190 to 157, while 557 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 37.45 points, or 1.36 percent, to close at 2,800.87 on Monday. Endit
