Expert calls on Poland, China to jointly seize development opportunities

A Polish expert on China on Monday urged Poland and China to step up exchanges in various sectors in an effort to seize development opportunities.

Professor Bogdan Goralczyk made the remarks during a Chinese-Polish foreign policy forum which was held here on Monday. The forum runs concurrently with Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to Poland.

Goralczyk believed both President Xi's visit to Poland and the forum were crucial for Poland, due to Poland's participation in the "16+1" mechanism between China and Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries and the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative.

The "Chinese-Polish Foreign Policy Forum: Progress, Potential, Prospects" was jointly organized by the Chinese Academy of Social Science (CASS), 16+1 China-CEEC Think Tank Networks, and the Polish Institute of International Affairs.

The meeting focused on Chinese-Polish diplomatic relations, the importance of the Belt and Road Initiative, Poland's role in its implementation, and the challenges ahead.

During the forum, the head of the Polish Institute of International Affairs, Slawomir Debski, spoke highly of Polish-Chinese relations. Endit
