British Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn said parliament would be recalled next Monday, when paying tribute to Labour MP Jo Cox in her West Yorkshire constituency alongside Prime Minister David Cameron on Friday.

Cox died after she was shot and stabbed in Birstall, West Yorkshire on Thursday. Local media reported she was attacked by a 52-year-old man who was arrested shortly afterwards.

Cameron said the country "should treasure and value our democracy where Members of Parliament are out in the public, accountable to the public, available to the public, and that's how Jo died. She died doing her job."
