Mining stocks lead JSE's rebound

The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) All-Share index finished 1.23 percent up on Wednesday, with 2.3 percent gains in resource shares leading the upward trend.

Among some individual shares, Anglo American rose 4.49 percent to R137.10 with BHP Billiton gaining 4.45 percent to R178.43.

On the top ten gainers list for today was Bid Corporation, whose shares advanced 7.20 percent to R268.00 after investors traded 5,840,330 shares in 5,321 deals.

Losing 10.71 percent was Insimbi after investors bought and sold 38,905 shares in 14 deals. Bowler Metcalf slid to R9.50 after investors traded 159,893 shares in 95 deals, resulting in a loss in share price of 7.32 percent.

The rand was trading at R15.23 to the US dollar, R21.59 to the British pound and R17.13 to the euro. Endit
