1st LD: Indian fighter jet crashes in western state

Xinhua, June 13, 2016 Adjust font size:

An Indian Air Force's MiG-27 fighter jet crashed near the western state of Rajasthan's Jodhpur city Monday, a senior defense official said.

Though two pilots ejected safely, three persons on the ground sustained injuries and a building near the crash site was damaged, he said on condition of anonymity.

The fighter jet was old and the incident happened as soon as it took off on a training flight from the Jodhpur air base, the official said.

The Indian Air Force has ordered a court of inquiry into the incident, he added. Endit
