Algerian troops kill 4 militants in ambush

Four militants were killed and four others captured during a counterterrorism operation, said Algerian Defense Ministry on Saturday in a statement.

The wide scale operation unfolded on Wednesday in the province of Medea, 115 km southwest of Algiers, when an ambush initially eliminated four terrorist.

Another terrorist was captured alive the next day, while three others were arrested on Saturday.

A load of weapons and ammunition were retrieved, said the ministry.

The North African nation has been deploying more troops on its eastern borderline to thwart intrusion of arms and militants amid unstable security situation in neighboring Tunisia and civil war hitting Libya. Endit
