The 11th edition of Burkina Faso Entrepreneurship Days (JEB) was officially opened on Thursday in Ouagadougou under the theme: "Emerging Sectors and Women, Youth Entrepreneurship."
Speaking during the opening ceremony, the president of Burkina Faso's Chamber of Commerce Henriette Kabore said "this year's edition is being held in a context of democratic and socio-economic normalization, marked by high expectations from youths and women, in an environment that offers multiple business opportunities."
The entrepreneurship event will be a productive platform that will bring together experts from various industries, implementers of projects and holders of capital.
She noted that prior to the forum, a competition of business plans was launched in February that led to registration of 693 projects whose total cost was 13 billion CFA Francs (over 22 million U.S. dollars) and total financing requirement of 9.7 billion CFA Francs.
From June 9 to 11, JEB will bring together economic actors around business fora, conferences and workshops to validate a study on business failures in Burkina Faso.
Organizers will also showcase to participants photos of winners of past editions, explain to them formalities for starting a business in 24 hours and introduce them to a space dubbed "Test entrepreneur," which targets those with projects to evaluate their entrepreneurial capacity. Enditem
