Xinhua, June 10, 2016 Adjust font size:

German car producer BMW Group reported here on Friday that it had achieved its best-ever May in terms of sales.

A total of 198,354 vehicles were sold worldwide in May, representing an increase of 5.3 percent year-on-year, the Bavarian company reported.

As a result, 935,288 vehicles have been sold globally since January, a year-on-year increase of 5.0 percent.

In China, the group's biggest market in Asia, 40,123 vehicles were delivered to Chinese customers last month, up by 7.1 percent compared to the same month last year.

"Our sales continue to show sustainable growth, well in line with our expectations," Ian Robertson, member of the board of management for sales and marketing, said.

"Our target is to ensure profitable growth in sales and thanks to our attractive model line-up, that's what we are achieving," Robertson said. Endit
