Singapore stocks close 0.65 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 18.58 points or 0.65 percent to close at 2,843.8.

A total of 1.05 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 913.1 million Singapore dollars (676.4 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 218 to 169, while 519 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 14.29 points or 0.5 percent to close at 2,862.38 on Wednesday. Endit
