The following are news highlights in Ethiopia's major media outlets on Thursday.

-- Public Expenditure Management and Monitoring Standing Committee of the House of People's Representatives has commended the Ethiopian Railways Corporation for its successful performance on infrastructural development.

Hearing the performance audit report of the corporation Wednesday, the Standing Committee indicated that the corporation has achieved the goal of the government by providing efficient, reliable and accessible railway service to the public. (Ethiopian News Agency)

-- The United Nation Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is impressed with what Ethiopia has done in terms of developing a guideline for biosphere strategy, UNESCO Science Specialist for Ethiopia said.

According to UNESCO Science Specialist, Benno Böer, UNESCO wants all 54 African member states to have similar biosphere guideline. (Ethiopian News Agency) Endit
