Del Bosque still keeping his cards close to his chest ahead of Euros

Spain coach Vicente del Bosque was giving none of his plans away on Monday when he spoke to the press ahead of Spain' s final preparation game ahead of the European Championships.

The Spanish take on Georgia on Tuesday and it is widely expected Del Bosque will field a side similar to that which kicks off the Spanish defense of their European title on June 13th against the Czech Republic.

It was thought Del Bosque would clarify whether Iker Casillas or David de Gea will be his first choice goalkeeper, but the Spain coach refused to say what his decision would be.

"All of our goalkeepers are in good form: Iker Casillas played in the last friendly against South Korea and maybe De Gea will play tomorrow. But we have to wait until the 13th to see who will play against the Czech Republic," said Del Bosque.

"I don' t need to take a decision now, the first thing is to pick the squad, then for us to prepare and then to take the final decision. We can' t score from a corner before we take it," said the Spain coach.

"I don' t know if the side which plays Georgia will be that which starts the Euros, because we want all of the players we have to have played so that they know each other. I know how we are going to play, that is the main thing and tomorrow we will put that into practice," he added.

Spain' s preparation has been far from ideal as Del Bosque began training with just nine players who will travel to France, before being joined at the start of the month by 10 more and with the final four, who had all played in the Champions League final, only reporting for duty on Saturday.

It is a similar scenario to that before Spain' s disappointing 2014 World Cup campaign, but the coach indicated he was "satisfied," with preparation. "Those who have joined up with us have done so in a natural manner and that is what we all hoped for," he concluded. Endit
