Huawei launches flagship smartphone P9 in Bangladesh

Xinhua, June 6, 2016 Adjust font size:

Huawei, the world's second largest Android Smartphone brand, launched its much anticipated flagship device Huawei P9 in Bangladesh on Monday.

High profile Bangladeshi photographers GMB Akash, Iresh Zaker, and Bassbaba Sumon have collaborated with Huawei by shooting a collection of images with the P9, inspired by and to showcase the ground-breaking new capabilities of the smartphone.

"We believe the P9 is a game-changer for smartphone photography. Huawei and Leica share the same passion to look beyond what is possible, and the partnership between the two equally famed companies have forever changed the way we take photos and see the world," said Ingmar Wang, Director of Device Business, Huawei (Bangladesh) Limited.

"The P9 is a piece of art which has seen a relentless drive to push the boundaries of innovation. Our latest flagship product launch signifies our commitment towards the Bangladeshi market, which is very important for us," he said.

Robi, the leading telecom operator in Bangladesh, came together with Huawei to launch the handset, according to a Huawei statement.

Robi users will get 9 GB data and 999 minutes talk time per month for three months, said the statement.

Robi's Head of Business Operation Jean-Michel Arnaud Chanut said P9 is the first smartphone with Leica camera, which is regarded to be the Mercedes Benz in photography.

"So, don't worry if you are not a pro. Just click away. We will provide superfast internet to help consumers enjoy it in the digital space. Robi is indeed proud to partner with Huawei in bringing P9 for our subscribers," he said.

The Huawei P9 is the latest in its P Series of premium smartphones with the best-in-class hardware, never-seen-before camera, smarter fingerprint ID technology, superb connectivity and an extraordinary 5.2 inch screen, with a state-of-the-art design, said the statement.

Along with the superior technology specification, it said the device's attractive price proposition of 47,990 taka (about 610 U.S. dollars) is expected to attract the sophisticated smartphone users in the country.

Created in collaboration with world-famous brand Leica Camera AG, P9 brings a new dimension in smartphone photography, it said, adding that its brilliant image engineering will allow users to capture photographs in both vivid colors and striking monochrome.

Each P9 device is a perfect construct of superior-grade 2.5D glass and an aerospace-class aluminum, with diamond-cut edges rounded out by carefully balanced curvatures, it said. Endit
