Three officials from China's Hunan and Hebei provinces and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region have been arrested on suspicion of corruption, the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) said on Monday.
They include Bi Hua, formerly the Communist Party of China (CPC) secretary and deputy head of Hunan's provincial association for science and technology, Hou Fengqi, former Party secretary of Wuhai City in Inner Mongolia, and Zhang Hao, formerly deputy head of the standing committee of Baoding municipal people's congress in Hebei.
All three are suspected of taking bribes, and the SPP said investigation into the trio is currently under way.
In addition, it said prosecutors have indicted Xie Haisheng, head of Xiamen City's environmental protection bureau in Fujian Province, for taking bribes and abuse of power.
Xie was charged with "taking advantage of his position to seek benefits for other people, illegally accepting huge sums of cash and goods from others, and power abuse which led to serious losses to national interests," according to the indictment. Endi
