Singapore stocks close 0.16 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 4.55 points, or 0.16 percent, to close at 2,795.09.

A total of 1.17 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 731.1 million Singapore dollars (531.4 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 191 to 173, while 547 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 0.52 points, or 0.02 percent, to close at 2,790.54 on Wednesday. Enditem
