Bishkek hosts Chinese Xinjiang export goods exhibition-fair

The 5th Chinese Xinjiang export goods exhibition-fair kicked off here on Wednesday with the purpose of enhancing trade and economic cooperation between China and Kyrgyzstan.
"This exhibition-fair is a platform for the development of trade and economic cooperation and business between the two countries, creating mutual trust, equality, favorable conditions for the continuation of development of mutually beneficial cooperation", Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Economy Arzybek Kozhoshev said at the opening ceremony of the exhibition-fair.
The minister also expressed a strong interest of the Kyrgyz Economy Ministry in the development of mutually beneficial cooperation with Xinjiang, where promising area is construction of joint enterprises on processing agricultural products, greenhouses, joint cooperation in energy, trade, as these areas are the most relevant to Kyrgyzstan.
"Over 25 years of mutual cooperation between the two countries, China remains one of Kyrgyzstan's major and most attractive trading partners. China ranks second after Russia in the trade turnover of the Kyrgyz Republic," said Kozhoshev.
According to the minister, significant results have been achieved in the history of mutual cooperation.
"In Kyrgyzstan, there are more than 400 joint Chinese enterprises in various sectors of the economy (industry, mining, medicine, agriculture, services, etc.). Chinese businessmen work successfully in Kyrgyz market, in the field of gold mining, trade, reconstruction of roads, paper production, food industry," Kozhoshev said.
Alym Mamaturaiym, executive manager of a Xinjiang import and export company, who brought some of their goods like sports shoes, towels and other products, said that his company is taking part in the exhibition for the first time and he hopes to find here good partners.
One of the buyers, famous Kyrgyz singer Dilbar Raimbekova, came to the exhibition with her children.
She bought shoes for her children and praised the good quality of the goods and reasonable prices. She said that she often attends such exhibition-fairs.
Tursun uulu Kubatbek, whose company is engaged in construction, is interested in pipes and talked to sellers. He said he plans to buy some Chinese products, as the quality is very good and prices are affordable.
About 50 Chinese companies displayed their products.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, some business forums will be held during the exhibition-fair.
The first forum is held on Wednesday, first day of the three-day exhibition-fair, in Bishkek.
The Chinese businessmen became acquainted with Kyrgyz enterprises, on the basis of which joint enterprises can be formed, and investment projects in various areas of the economy.
The Chinese delegation also will visit regions of Kyrgyzstan, to take part in business-forums with the participation of local businessmen. Enditem
