Qingdao to inaugurate ATP China Tennis Challenge in August

Qingdao of China will for the first time host an ATP China International Tennis Challenge from August 8 to 14, announced officials of the Qingdao sports bureau here on Wednesday.

"With a total bonus of 125,000 U.S. dollars, the highest among ATP challenges, this tournament will attract more than 100 tennis players from all over the world," said Song Aijun.

According to the organizers, the Qingdao leg of the ATP China International Tennis Challenge will be held five years in a row until 2020.

The newly-born tournament will be held on five clay courts and the qualifiers will start from August 6, featuring a total of 64 singles and 32 pairs. Endit
