Unidentified gunmen killed three Burkina Faso officers in an attack on Tuesday night against a police station in a locality close to the border with Mali, a security source on Wednesday said in the capital Ouagadougou.

According to the source, the assailants launched the attack in the night of Tuesday to Wednesday against Intangom police station in the Sahel region, close to the border of Burkina Faso with Mali.

For months, Burkina Faso has been experiencing a wave of terrorist attacks, mostly in the northern region of the country.
